Pandemic has unquestionably caused so much destruction to our #TravelGoals. Do you look forward to traveling after this quarantine madness? I assure you, there is a rainbow after this disaster. While waiting for that day to come, the day where we can freely navigate to our dream travel destinations, how about — I'll help you plan your next big adventure?


Hmm — how about we go across the border? Hong Kong? Exploring different cultures could be more exciting. If you're in, let's go!


What comes to mind when you hear Hong Kong? Do you think about Disneyland? Lantau Island? Ocean Park? Cable Car? What about the people? Honestly, no words can express how amazing the city of Hong Kong is, maybe in numbers? 10/10. I won't spoil you with a cheesy introduction, I'll give you my itinerary, and you define Hong Kong yourself.

 

Day 1: Arrival

  • 07:30 AM - Check-In (Gensan Int'l Airport)
  • 08:00 AM - Departure (Gensan Int'l Airport)
  • 10:00 AM - Arrival (NAIA 3, Pasay City)

Resting and worrying for like — an hour.

  • 11:30 AM - Paying Travel Tax & Check-In
  • 12:10 PM - Immigration
  • 12:30 PM - Lunch
  • 04:00 PM - Departure (NAIA 3, Pasay City)
  • 06:00 PM - Arrival (Hong Kong Int'l Airport)
  • 07:00 PM - Hotel (Marigold Hostel)
  • 08:00 PM - Night out (Walking)

 

Day 2: Hong Kong to Macau Adventure

  • 06:30 AM - Check-Out (Marigold Hostel)
  • 07:30 AM - Breakfast
  • 10:00 AM - Lantau Island
  • 11:30 AM - Lunch

 

Now, we are going to Macau! When you arrive in Macau, you have nothing to worry about, because Macau offers a free ride to their visitors.

 

  • 12:30 PM - Departure (Hong Kong Ferry Terminal)
  • 01:30 PM - Arrival (Taipa Ferry Terminal)
  • 02:00 PM - Grand Emperor Hotel (Jackie Chan's Hotel)
  • 02:30 PM - Venetian Macau Grand Canal
  • 03:30 PM - Ruins of St. Paul's Cathedral
  • 04:00 PM - Senado Square
  • 05:30 PM - Taipa, Village, Macau
  • 06:00 PM - Departure (Macau to Hong Kong via Ferry)
  • 07:00 PM - Dinner & Night out
  • 09:00 PM - Lights Off

 

Day 3: The Happiest Place on Earth, Disneyland

We woke up early in the morning because it's Disneyland day!

  • 06:00 AM - Kowloon Park (Walking)
  • 07:30 AM - Breakfast
  • 10:00 AM - Hong Kong Disneyland!
  • 12:30 PM - Lunch (I had to buy my lunch inside the park because bringing outside food is not allowed)
  • 08:00 PM - Departure (Disneyland)

We spend the whole day at the themed park. All I can say is I believe in magic again!

  • 09:00 PM - Dinner (Tsim Sha Tsui)
  • 10:00 PM - Lights Off

 

Day 4: Ocean Park

The park is so big. There are so many things you can explore here. If you love animals and science, this place is perfect for you. I love everything except for the extreme rides.

  • 06:30 AM - Breakfast
  • 08:00 AM - Ocean Park
  • 12:30 PM - Lunch (Bought food in the park)

So many things happened in Ocean Park. I enjoyed it.

  • 05:00 PM -Sheung Wan 
  • 07:00 PM - Dinner
  • 09:00 PM - City Tour
  • 10:00 PM - Lights Off

 

Day 5: Let's go home!

  • 07:00 AM - Breakfast
  • 10:00 AM - City Tour (Free walk & Buying Souvenirs)
  • 11:30 PM - Check-out (Marigold Hostel)
  • 12:30 PM - CityGate Outlets
  • 04:00 PM - Arrival (Hong Kong Int'l Airport)
  • 04:30 PM - Immigration
  • 06:00 PM - Dinner
  • 07:25 PM - Departure (Hong Kong Int'l Aiport)
  • 09:40 PM - Arrival (NAIA 3, Pasay City)
  • 10:00 PM - St. Giles - Makati City

 

Budget 101: I'm not good at it.

Note: If you live near Pasay, you don't have to book a hotel when you arrive in the Philippines from Hong Kong. Unlike me, I had to book a hotel for one night because my flight going back to General Santos got rescheduled.


Here is my budget for 5 Days 4 Nights in Hong Kong.

  2. Transportation (Air Fare excluded)
    1. Octopus Card + $50 - P1,300
    2. Round Trip (Hong kong - Macau) - P1,949
  3. Tourist Attraction
    1. Disneyland - P3,518
    2. Ngong Ping 360 Round Trip + Meal - P1,551
    3. Ocean Park - P2,580
  4. Miscellaneous
    1. Travel Tax - P1,620
    2. Food - P3,000

 

Grand Total: P21,656.12

 

The total that you see above is based only on the online prices like Klook, Agoda, TripAdvisor, and www.ThePoorTraveler.net. We actually spent less than the expected amount.
